at Aircraft recovery solutions, we specialize in the use of
low pressure air cushions
to ensure the post accident damage is minimized.
|
|
| |
|
Air Cushions have a wide
variety of uses that include lifting,
pushing, and
floating sunken objects. |

To help
our customers understand the capability of aircushions, we
have shown an example of a 60 inch wide 8 foot tall air
cushion. This cushion has a lifting surface area of
2,828 square inches. If we were able to use the
maximum air pressure of 7 PSI in the cushion, it would
lift 19,796 pounds. |

| If you
look at the photographs of the Falcon 20, you can see we
placed four air cushions under the wing for a combined
surface area of 79,184 square inches. The airplane
has an empty weight of approximately 16,600 pounds.
We lifted roughly half the aircraft's weight using only
one tenth of a pound of air pressure in the bags.
This allowed us to move our hands and arms between the bag
and the aircraft at any time. This low pressure
facilitated a damage free, controlled accent rate that
ensured stability. |
